Cutting overdrive on truck won't shift and even with overdrive cut off doesn't go into reverse

Also it feels like it goes in reverse but It doesn't move

You have an internal failure in the trans. It will have to come out and be inspected for failure

I was just told its a part that was recalled that is the problem and ford should fix it free of charge

Never heard of this. It may be a tsb but not a recall.

Call your dealer and run your vin number to see if there are any open recalls.

A guy at auto zone has a 96 and he said he had the same problem

It has to be electronic if I go down the road 55+ then put overdrive on it will shift inti overdrive and has reverse but at a lower speed it will kick itself out and reverse will not work but reverse will kick itself out so it has to be electronic cause its NOT the transmission
