Okay, so I was unsure of motor size and took the part store word on size. I replaced the belt. I bought the belt at the part store as it was by far cheaper. And took into a shop to have them put it on. About five to eleven days later it overheated for the first time. Thought nothing of it. I replaced the coolant cap as it was worn out and the thermostat as a possible problem. I just found out that in fact its a 2.2l not a 3.2l. My question is, could the wrong belt be the reason for this problem and if so what damage could a wrong sized belt do to the other parts relying on the belt to work right?

Good afternoon,

What belt? The timing belt or the drive belt?

Yes, they are different for each motor. If it was the incorrect belt, then the issue would have happened sooner than seven days.
