Fan not working properly and van is overheating

The fan works when I put on the A/C, but when the A/C is off my fan wont work and my car overheats. Don't know what it my be. I checked the relay and is good.

Hello my name is Dave.

It sounds like the most likely culprit is the engine coolant sensor located right front side of the engine. I would recommend having a scanner hooked up and see what temp the ECU is showing after it has reached operating temperature.
