While driving the truck lost all forward motion, now it only moves in reverse?

truck will only go in reverse. I was driving and mid drive I just lost all forward motion. It shifts from park to neutral, drive, reverse ,3,2,1 but will only move in reverse or neutral ABS light illuminates periodically and red brake light but then goes off and comes back later.

Hello, can you feel the truck engage in every gear? Typically, when all forward gears are lost it means the forward drum has failed. However, we should still check the transmission fluid for dark coloration, burnt smell, followed by dropping the pan to inspect.

Yes you can feel each gear except drive.

Do you have a scan tool of any kind? Most are around $20 on Amazon, I would scan the system for codes regarding the ABS light however the transmission fluid should be checked. Please let me know.

No burnt smell and fluid is good can still see original color. Put code reader on and 5 codes popped up they all pertain to the ABS and wheel speed sensor. We changed the wheel speed sensor, and it's still only moves in reverse and neutral.

If there are not transmission codes that is a sign that something inside the transmission has broken, it will need to be removed and rebuilt.
