Air conditioner died end of last year, simply not blowing cold air. I did nothing. This spring there was not refrigerant in the system, so I went to recharge it. There was a leak. I replace the line from condenser to evaporator, because it was leaking on connection between two hoses. Again my air conditioner was not working, then my mechanic replace the air conditioner control module, and finally the air conditioner starts to blow a cold air. Now after a five to ten minutes of working I am starting to hear loud fast clicking noises from the compressor department. Noises are very fast and loud, rapidly repeating. When I turn the air conditioner off, they stop. Again when I turn the air conditioner on, now after three to five minutes they start again. What is happening?

Can you tell if the clutch is cycling the compressor at a fast rate? Has the refrigerant pressures been check and is the correct weight of refrigerant been added to the system?

Yes, clutch is spinning the compressor and with the clicking noise on, air conditioner is working and blowing the cold air. Specialist replaced the line from condenser to evaporator, one month ago, and refiled the system with new refrigerant, I believe that he checked the refrigerant pressures and put the correct weight of refrigerant. Immediately after that I started to hear loud fast clicking noises from the compressor department. He told me that the compressor is bad/loud and that I need a new one, but maybe I do not need a new one, maybe is something less expensive to fix? What do you think is the problem? What shall I do?

You need to get the pressures re-checked with the system running, this is the best method of diagnosing what is going on, it sounds as if it is a pressure related problem due to the fast cycling of the compressor.
