Hello,

I have an automatic 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a V6 engine. Everytime I turn on my heater I smell raw gasoline. After my car heats up the smell goes away. I looked under the engine and could not see a leak. I also could not smell gasoline coming from the engine. I do not know much about cars and I am worried it is a huge risk for me to be drinving. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rachel

Hey Rachel

if you pop the hood, look directly at the engine, look for fuel lines, they will lead you to a small canister with a vacuum hose on it called a regulator, get some help and have the other person turn the key to the run. Not start postion and see if you can see fuel running from the regulator, the pump will only run for 2-3 seconds like this so you may have top do it several times, and you have to look close because fuel evaporates quickly especially when its hot like on the engine

let me know
