Sometimes I start my car and it sputters and I have to let it run (if not it will shut off when I attempt to drive it) so I let it run for about 20 seconds and then the engine will rev up (on its own) and then it goes away and then I can drive sputter free.
3.8 liter V6 (not SC)

Try this, the electronic coolat temp sensor, two diagrams, depending on what VIN you have.
