My 96 f350 7.3 powerstroke zf5speed 4x4 xlt reg cab srw with 183000 miles is wearing across the front passenger side tire at a 45 degree angle till I drive it enough to wear it bald it starts to do this on the other side but quits after a small amount of wear similar to the riders side put all new upper an lower ball joints all the steering linkage had it aligned an it is still doing this the frame is strait as a arrow im the second owner no wrecks or anything on car fax I know shocks can make abnormal wear but it holds the road excellent an its hard to think shocks would cause this unique BS. Also it has a ticking like a exhaust leak no sign of out ANYWHERE but I can smell diesel some what strong after parking from front of truck but no sign of leaks any where this has me an 3 blue oval dealerships and a transit repair shop baffled hope some one knows of these bogus problems

thanks a million an I plan on donating soon!

Shot is the dark but I know that those monsters have a great tendency to go through dust seals. And I know dust seals are the ultimate problem but I would possibly consider wheel bearings. My neighbor had a very similar issue. I have an excursion with the 7.3 diesel. Love the truck.

Smell of fuel. A leak does not have to drip but can seep. Follow that fuel line from tail to head.

You need to have the alignment rechecked. Sounds like the toe in is wrong. Rotate your tires every 8,000 miles as well.
