It makes a loud noise around the belt area it starts it when you start the van and is very loud and it stops when you give it the fuel but starts back when you let off the gas pedal. It sounds as if its coming around the belt area we thought it was the idle pulley we put a new one on it but still does it. Can you please help.

If you're using the same belt it might be a belt issue itself, check to make sure that there's less than 1" of play on the belt, make sure it's not cracked, glazed, or torn, if the belt is fine or you put a new one on, make sure all your pulley's are free moving and not seazed up, and you can always try some belt dressing aswell.

I had the same problem with an 3800. Drove me nuts for a week. After changing belt, alternator and pulley I found out it was the water pump. Installed a new one and it has been fine ever since. Hope this helps.
