1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass Starting

When I open the door the alarm system gose off. Then the car wont start until I disconnect the positive cable from the battery. It dose this all the time. It started after my battery died and I put a new one in. I think its the interruptor swtich from the alarm stopping it from starting. How can I disengage the alarm switch and the interruptor switch. We did not get any remote with the car. Could a faulty ingtion switch cause the same problem. You can remove the key while its running.

Most likely its an after market system
check driver side under steering area for a small toggle or push switch
and if so turn the key on engine off switch the switch
turn key off
and try, some times you have to do it twice or so try the switch in different positions
