Interior problem
1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My hood cable snapped right at the handle inside the handle mounting next to the drivers seat. The cable itself is inside the sheathing so I cant reach it to open the hood. The front of cars grille is completely closed in, so I can't get to latch to pop it open. How can I get hood open and what's it take to put new cable in? Thanks in advance

Welcome, I can't see your grill, if it is completely closed in, how does the radiator get air? Inside the vehicle, can you see the end of the cable, maybe you can use a pair of tweezers to grab it, if comes out far enough, grab with pair of vicegrips. Another thought is to use a small tubing cutter, cut the cable housing only, remove part of cable housing, see if you can find the cable. After you get the hood up, you can figure something else about the release. Lube the catch under the hood. I have seen universal hood release mechanism in autostore, I think it was around 20 bucks.
