When I start my 3.4 dohc it smokes. I installed a new pcv, checked all vacumm to make sure it was clear, but noticed a lot of oil in the intake. Was told it needs valve seals, but why the oil in the intake? I cleaned it out with carb cleaner, and she ran clean for awhile, then started to smoke at start-up again. Is it my vv. Seals or rings, or both. Runs great. Lots of get-up, idles smooth, basically runs like it should?

Valve seals will normally give you a puff of smoke at start up after sitting. It can't make it into the intake. If you are getting it there, the usual cause is blow buy caused by worn rings. If you open the oil cap while the engine is running, is there smoke or pressure coming out?

Let me know.

Hi joe/ thanks for getting back to me. I removed oil cap off when running (and at start up). There was no blow, and no pressure in or out(still). Took off the intake and oil has started to get to the filter again. Looked past the throdel in the intake and you can see the pooling of oil in there again? Wondering if its the intake gasket. But she runs so well, you would think it would run like crap? Im just living with it now, until I know what repair is needed. Get back to me. Thanks Joe" from Don, victoria bc, canada.
