My A/C was working fine in my car, I hit a sign and now the A/C will only shoot out hot air. The air is hot as if the heater is blowing, but I have it on max A/C and it doesn't make a difference. I filled it with freon and it worked for a few minutes really good, but doesn't work anymore, just the same hot air now. Does that mean I have a leak? Is that expensive to fix?

Sounds like a big leak if it only lasted a few minutes. The cost would depend on the component that is leaking.

If the sign broke the condenser, which sits in front of the radiator, that's easy to get to. Unless you know auto air conditioning, I would say to let an ac shop take care of getting it going.

You could replace the parts yourself and do a leak test on the components and the lines. (Kits available at auto parts stores) and have an ac shop vacuum and fill the system to the proper specifications. That would save you a bunch of $$$.
