1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass blower motor

I have purchased a replacement motor for the blower and can't get the old one out. The alternator is in the way. Is there a trick to the removal or do I need to remove the alternator.

Can you disconnect the front motor mounts by the radiator and pull it forward and try that way it will be a bit tight but you should be able to clear it
