1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass alternator replacement

How hard is it to remove. Is there any other parts I have to remove. Alternator replacement

I had an alternator go bad as well. If your bolts on the alternator have not been touched in a while then it will be difficult toremove, sorry. The only thing you need to take off partially is the serpintine belt enough to get the alternator off, but dont take it off all the way or you will do extra work for no purpose. If the bolts fight with you, go buy a cheap lubricant like super tech or a low grade lube and spray it over the bolts and let it sit for about 5 minutes. If that doesent work, my dad and I used a crowbar attached to a socket wrench and used brute force. Remember to disconnect the battery to do all of this first.
