1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Gasoline smells

My car, sat in a garage for about a year, until the time I inherited it. When I first took possession, I got the necessary safety checks and a fewmonths later had to get my spark plugs replaced. Just ot note out of the 6 plugs, 2 were fused and required alot of penetrating fluid to finally break them loose. This was about 2 weeks ago, however since getting the car back from the autobody, I have noticed a fairly distinct and strong smell of gasoline from the back end of my vehicle and now I can notice it inside the car, after it has been parked for a few hours. Never smell it while driving? What could be the problem? Does it have something to do with my replaced spark plus?
