I just purchased a 1995 Olds Cierra w/28,000 actual miles. The car was owned by an elderly person that passed away, however, the car was in a garage for years.

I'm concerned about the belts having dry rot and that they should be replaced. Also, does the car have a timing belt or a timing chain and should I replace that?

The car runs and rides beautifully, no problems but I don't know what I should update due to the circumstances of the car sitting for a while.

Replacing drive belts good idea also oil, trans, air&fuel filters. Flush coolant system and consider tune. Check tire side wall for dry rot cracks. No T-Belt chain and gears so no need to worry. With 28K you should get miles and years of service. So do all maintence now keep log and Happy Motoring
