2004 Oldsmobile Bravada odd occurrence when turning

I maintain my car well and have recently am experiencing an odd issue. When I back out of my garage all is fine then when i turn the wheel the engine seems to bog down as if i am hitting the brakes. Anytime i am going straight or only a slight turn no issues at all--then I take a turn and it is almost as if I am riding my brakes--i do hear a slight niose (wheezing) which I thought was a power sterring pump but can't find any leaks and the compartment is full.
