I have replaced the battery and replaced the alternator but when going out the next day the battery is dead. When checking the fuses I noticed that one was really messed up it didn't blow but melted it as if got hot. I have disconnected the window and door locks because the were making a noise like they were on constantly but still drained the battery. We have also had a problem with carbon build up in the egr valve it kills the motor and has almost caused an accident with no power steering and no brakes. Can it be saved or is it junk yard bound?

When you replaced your battery, did you make sure the water level in the battery was filled. Pop the caps on top of the battery to check, fill with tap water. Also, make sure your battery connectors are tight. When you replaced the alternator did you make sure you properly grounded the alternator? As far as the carbon build up, that may be an Oxygen Sensor problem, for a new one it's roughly $100 - $150 depending on the name brand. (Bosch is a more expensive name brand)
