How do I depress the brake cylinder piston when installing new rear wheel disc brakes?

Hi:
When I do it, I leave the old pad in place over the piston and then use a C-clamp to depress it. Also, I recommend allowing the excess fluid to exit through the bleeder rather than pushing it back into the system. Just make sure to close it before air can enter the system.
