If I change the battery will the radio have to b reset and will it have anything to do with the security system.

it may, what you can do is go to the parts store, and there is a little nine volt "settings keeper" I believe its called, with a little cigarette lighter piece at the end that you plug into the cigarette lighter and it keeps all of your settings,
