2001 Oldsmobile Aurora V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am in the process of replacing the blower motor. It looks like my ext step is to remove the ductwork on the left of the blower assembly.

What is the recommended sequence of proceedures for removing and replacing the blower assembly

TIP: The only way that I found to get the new one in was to cut the insulator that is under the carpet and pull it back out of the way. I also had to cut off the stud coming through the firewall that sits under the motor. (I hated to remove the stud but it didn't seem to affect how tight the heater case was and the alternative seemed to be to break the heater case). After getting that out of the way you still have to wiggle the motor just right and eventually it pops up into the cavity.
