2004 Oldsmobile Alero shocks and struts

My girlfrind thinks that she needs to replace hershocks and struts bt I think different. They dont seem to act different so my question is what are the signs of problems with shocks and struts. I just would like to know before she spends the money on them for nothing thank you

Probably doesn't need em.

Bounce test: Strongly press down with your hands and knee and joune the car. IT should come back up and stop.

Leaking fluid: oil leaking from the shock or strut. Minor seapages are normal.

A bouncy ride.
