2002 Oldsmobile Alero cooling system

On a 3.4L V6 it is located within the housing which is in the metal part where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. There are two bolts holding it in that are extremely hard to get to. You must remove the intake, throttle body, and exhaust heat shield just to get to it.
