What tool is used to release tension? Manuals talk about loosening moter mounts etc. Is that really necessary. It is my son's car and he and the car are out of state. He swears I changed it for him several years ago out in the driveway and I didn't loosen motor mounts. I can't recall the specifics.
Thanks

No, it is NOT necessary to remove the engine mounts. All you need is a 3/8's breaker bar (preferably 24" long). Insert the drive end into the center of the pulley on the tensioner and rotate counter clockwise.
