2000 Oldsmobile Alero 6 cyl Automatic 141100 miles

when I run my car from one place to another for sum reason it just shuts off completely and I wait for bit and the it runs. But I go and shuts off again.

Does it stutter before it shuts off? Also, is this doing it when you park, or while your driving? Do you have any check engine lights on? Do you know the past maintence of this vehicle such as tune up, fuel filter, oil change, etc?
