I keep getting a warning when approaching a junction etc. When I start to slow down a wee bit I get a warning on dashboard say warning oil pressure low with a "stop" sign flashing up in cockpit area. It only last a few seconds but have checked oil level and it is totally fine in between the low and high marks on dip stick.
Do you know roughly what is causing this? When it does happen my engine sounds like a diesel engine if you know what I mean. Sounds a bit louder than what a petrol engines sounds. It is a Puegeot 3008 1.6 sport.
Any help to find out if this is a major problem. Thanks
Alan

Check oil pressure manually and sometimes it is an oil filter causing this. We have no information on this car so it is a general answer. You may have a bearing problem as well.

First of all thanks for your reply very much appreciated, but How do you check pressure manually? Or even filter.

The filter is the engine oil filter and to manually check pressure you get a gauge with adapters if needed and take out oil pressure switch or another oil galley connection and start engine. However, as I said we have no information on these cars as they are not sold in US.
