Oil pressure at sensor port by oil filter is 60 psi cold start, single wire oil sensor plugged in. Unplugged wire grounded no reading at cluster. When the key is turned to on the cluster oil pressure needle moves very little. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you

This is not a traditional oil pressure sensor that is a direct feed to the gauge.

The sensor sends a signal to the PCM and then the PCM sends a signal to the cluster via what is called the CAN bus network.

If your oil pressure gauge is not responding, I suspect you have a code. Have you checked for codes yet? If not, stop by a parts store and see if they will check the codes for you.

Let me know what they are and we can go from there. Thanks

Thank you for your time and help. (Check gauge's) shows on cluster only at start up, no other codes are set, and I have used two different computers and find no live data for oil pressure readings. I've checked harnesses and connections, and even wiggle test of same. What would be the next step in diagnosis? Thanks

What type of scan tools are you using? There is an oil pressure reading in the PCM for these. I think the issue you are having is the scan tool that you have doesn't actually pull that data from the PCM.

Take a look at this document. It goes through the operation of the system but the first step is needing to read what the sensor is telling the PCM the oil pressure is. If this matches what the gauge is showing then we have either an oil pressure issue or a sensor issue. However, since you confirmed it has 60 PSI this would leave a sensor issue.

If the PCM is showing the same as the external gauge that you hooked up then we have a communication issue or a cluster issue.

When you start the engine and the gauges go through there self checks of sweeping the gauges, does the oil pressure gauge perform this sweep?

If not, I suspect we have a cluster issue.

Read through this operation document and let me know this issue and we can go from there. Thanks
