Loss of Oil Pressure while driving?

Motor/Transmission in very good condition.
Yesterday I noticed a loss in oil pressure while driving.
Gauge always on 40.
All the way home from work (17 miles)
Needle stayed around 30.

Hi,

That pressure is still considered normal at 2,000 RPMs. Keep in mind, you may have a failing oil pressure switch as well.

Take a look at the pic below. It shows what the manufacturer recommends as far as pressure based on RPM. See if you fall within those guidelines and let me know what you find.
