Oil change, oil viscosity

I am currently using 5w30 oil with Interval of 8000 km, I have done 6,5000 km, daily mileage is 150km approximately. I wanted to ask as engine is old now should I use higher viscosity oil like 10w40 or 5w30 is fine and also should I reduce oil changing interval?

Your interval is fine I would not change that. The total miles on the motor is also low and does not amount to enough to indicate any major wear. I would continue to run 5W 30 until around 160.000KM then possibly go up to a heavier oil if wear is noted.
