I need to reset the TPMS after Discount Tire installed new tires, same axle and on stock SC430 rims. The low air pressure lamp is now on. The tech said the 06 SC must be taken to Lexus because it's pre mandatory tire sensors.
Any idea your thoughts how to reset? The Dill Inc TPS lead Engineer sent me 3 pages decision logic from AutoZone "all data" to use as a troubleshoot guide. All appears good, but no fix.
The only plug I know about is the plug under the driver side dashboard (pictured).
Engine compartment appears missing an ODB1 diagnostic connector of sources "pictured".

Hi,

You won't find an OBD1 connector. They went to OBD2 in 1995.

As far as reset, if you don't have a scan tool, you need to jump pins 4 and 13 in the DLC3 connector which is under the dash on the driver's side and manipulate the tire pressure warning switch. See directions.

I attached the directions below. The last pic shows the location of the switch.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Just to jump in, these vehicles have run flat tires with chrome rims. First you need to check all four tires to see if any are low. If you are low, the rim needs to be re-chromed. Rust around the bead causes it to leak.

If the tire light is flashing, then you have a malfunction. Either the sensor was damaged during removal or installation of the tire, or the battery depleted. The sensors used on this vehicle were color coded. See the image below. If that is the case, then the sensor would need to be replaced with the same color code sensor. Aftermarket sensors are not available to replicate the color that I know of. Hence, why they end up at the dealer to get replaced.
