OBD2 Codes $07E8 and $07E9?

OBD2 Codes $07E8 and $07E9 are coming up on my car I purchased the OBD2 scanner on eBay and wanted to know why my check engine light was on, just wondering what these codes might mean.

Those are not the true codes. Those are the codes that the scan tool uses to tell the ECU to display any codes and the reply back that it has a code. You need to go a couple more steps to read the actual code(s). This is common with some aftermarket tools. The upper-level tools send the same signal, but then read the standard code info. Yours just hasn't taken that step. What tool is it, they might tell you which menu to select to read the actual codes in the manual.
