OBD2 will not work but cigarette lighter does

I tried to connect my OBD scanner to the port it will not power on. Checked the cigarette lighter that works fine checked fuses they are good. Do I need to replace the OBD port?

I would check fuse #27 in the fuse panel at the left end of the dash because that is one the that powers the scanner.

More than likely this is not the connector. This is one of the possible causes but I would say the last possible cause.

If the scan tool does not power on, we need to start with checking it on another vehicle. Just ask a friend to try it on their vehicle if you don't have another OBD II vehicle.
