I removed the old sensor on my car with great difficulty but now the new part will not go in like it cannot catch a thread. Is there any other way I can sort this problem?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

When the old one came out, did it damage the threads or do you think the problem is related to rust, corrosion, or debris? If the threads are still good, I would suggest getting a tap or cleaning tap to run into threads again so the new sensor can screw into place. If the threads are no good, you have two choices. Replace the component that is damaged or replace the threaded bung. You will need to actually weld the new O2 bung on the damaged component.

I attached a picture for you to see what an 02 bung looks like.

I hope this helps.

Take care,
Joe
