Two days ago my car would not go past 5 mph or 1,000 RPM's. When I got it back into the driveway, the battery acted like it was dying. The next day it ran perfectly fine. When we went to take it in, again it would not go past 5 MPH or 1,000 RPM'S

If the battery light started coming on then I would recommend checking your alternator. If the voltage drops below 10 volts the electronic throttle will stop responding. Here is a repair guide on checking the alternator:

Let us know what voltage you are measuring when it starts to act up.

It is now not turning on at all, the warning message says that the key I've been using isn't programmed to the car.
