Hi, I have a recent issue with my car not accelerating as it should, especially going up any inclines. It also starts to shake when I do try to push it to accelerate. This is much worse the hotter then engine gets. If I am on a flat plane, it will accelerate slowly but, but it is hard to get it up to even forty mph on incline. It is automatic but it feels like when it needs to auto shift to accelerate past thirty five mph, it will not unless I let off the gas and try again. Then it shakes pretty bad and the check engine light flashes until I get on a flat plane again or stop giving it gas. I checked the transmission fluid, it was a little low, after adding more, the problem was not quite as bad, but after driving it running errands, it came right back. My brake light indicator is on. Is it possible the e-brake is stuck in place? The light goes on and off somewhat randomly over the last month or two.

Check the brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. It could be running low and turning the indicator on intermittently. If the brake fluid level is low, you ought to have the brakes pads checked, they could be running thin.

Engine shaking badly during acceleration indicates possible misfiring of the cylinder and that would result in poor engine performance. Have a scan performed to retrieve the trouble codes and if it is ignition related, the spark plugs and ignition coils should be checked.

I had nearly the same issue but much worse in January 2018 and at that time the spark plugs and all six coils (front and rear) were replaced along with some other work. It ran beautifully since then until last week started again. I called the mechanic that did that work and will see him tomorrow as the parts are still under warranty he said.

About the brake light though, brake fluid was checked and is full. It came on for a few minutes this morning, and then remained off the rest of the day (I drove it about three times after). Any other thoughts on that?

Is it the ABS or red brake warning light or the low brake pad indicator light? Can you upload a picture? It does sounds like the parts have failed on the ignition did he use OEM parts?
