Hood release cable broke can't open hood

If the handle is broken the cable end so be sitting there, grab a pair of vise grips and clamp down on the cable end and pull while someone is pushing down on the hood at the same time, this will lessen the pressure on the hood latch and help the hood open. Once the hood is open replace the cable. Check out the images (below). Please upload an image or a short video in your response, so I can see what's going on.
