my wrench while on the positive battery terminal hit frame and I lost all power. so, I checked the fuses the only fuse I found blown was I went to get another fuse no longer than a minute and the power was back on in the form of interior lights the would not turn off so I tried to crank car and something sounded like metal on metal starter I think which I've had no trouble with then nothing all power completely out I checked with multi meter 0 I went to charge it, it had only 10.45 I removed it placed on charge until charged checked fuses again all good put batt in and interior lights came on I attempted to crank it same noise but more sickly sounding but no start almost like not getting fuel quickly turned off key because I see smoke from passenger side off the motor but could not see where it was coming from I tested battery as the power seemed to fade so in just 4 minutes power dropped to 10.35 and no fuses blown I searched for the fusible link but could not locate one so I tested all wires coming off batt by attaching my leads to fuse box and the other to batt on each wire all had continuity I'm at a loss so ruled out if one of those was fusible link. I failed to mention the fuse blown that one time was the left heated seat fuse 10 amp I don't have heated seats.

Hi,

We need to determine where the smoke was coming from. When that happened, did it smell electrical? Also, when you touched the wrench to the frame causing a short, were you working at the battery?

Let me know.
