No pulleys turning

Okay, I’m assuming timing belt. No pulleys are turning directly out the front of the engine. Car is running but making a loud tapping/knocking noise.

Good afternoon,

If the crankshaft pulley is not turning, then you have a major engine issue. The front of the crankshaft is not turning. This means the front of the shaft has broken off.

You will need to replace the motor.

ASEMASTER6371 turned out to be the harmonic balancer was really loose like it would fall out of the block. Car was scrapped so just wanted to give a finding on the matter. Thanks
