Hi experts. Good day I have a problem while driving the other evening I tried to pass a truck only to realize I don't have the pulling power to do so. This has being going on for two weeks now took it in the shop three scans no codes fault detected. Scratch our heads, but have noticed that this only happens which I had thought was after driving for long distances and returning in the nights only to find out it is because when I turn the night lights on actually my first click of switch dash and taillights if I am driving lets say with rev up to 4,000 rpm as soon as I switch on dash lights the rpm goes right down to 2,800 rpm will not go up anymore until I click off dash lights it speeds up again. If I park put it in neutral it revs out but when load applied it weakens.

I am wondering if the dash dimmer system is crossing with the fuel pump or something like that also maybe the correct fuel pump circuit is open and being fed by a lowered voltage circuit.

Hello,

It sounds like the alternator is weak and when under load it allows the voltage to drop, does the battery light come on at all? here is a guide to check the voltage of the system try it with the lights on:

Also have you done a CAN scan? This video can help us:

Thanks Ken. This I also noticed if I pull the pass lever at the steering wheel I have the high beam come on and I hold it towards me and drive the vehicle up rev okay with the A/C running and music playing. But as soon as I switch on the switch for dash lights and taillights power weakens.

Full time status light section in dash extremely bright with dash lights off then when night lights switched on it goes dim. Was just wondering if it's the same thing causing the power lowering?

Okay, I see what you are talking about thanks for the video. It looks like the headlight switch is bad causing the issue. Here is how you replace it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Okay, thanks. The van I have is a Japanese type right hand drive please I would like if you can send me the wiring diagram for the NV200 fuse to relay to switch to lights so I can see if the fuel pump is in line with this switch at anytime.

Today I did some observation I used a OBD2 scanner as I was driving. I noticed that while checking the throttle open position it was open to 57% as I switched the park light on it went down to 21%. Every time I switched on the light and does not go up until I switch it off.

That does not sound right at all, so at idle it is at 21%. Should be at like 3% this will be the ECU or a throttle actuator issue.

This is the reading second photo with pedal floored park lights on. Not opening more than 21% so rev not going pass 2990 rpm.

The engine will not rev in neutral the computer will not allow it. Did we check the alternator for AC voltage?
