Car didn't start, found out fuel pump was not working, replaced it, pump still not working, no current at pump, relay is brand new, spark at relay. What powers the pump if everything up to relay is good?

Hi Kyle,

More than likely you have a broken wire or shorted to ground. I would take the gray wire and cut it a couple inches after the relay and splice in a new wire and run your own wire to the pump. If you have power coming out but not at the pump then the only thing between the two is a wire.

Let me know after you run a wire how you make out. Thanks

Okay, I'll try that, but before I do the purple wire also has no power. Both black ground wires show when tested, so what about the purple wire?

What if I accidentally have the two black wires switched, would that have any effect with this situation?

Both black wires are ground wires so that should be okay. It may effect some other components but again, they are ground wires so I doubt you will have an issue. As for the purple wire, you will only have voltage on that wire when the engine is started and running. That is you fuel level signal to the VCM. Your gray wire is the feed wire that you need to have voltage on with key on to prime the pump. If you don't then I would just go to the relay and make sure you have voltage coming out and then run a new wire to the pump. That should get the pump running again.
