No heat and overheating

My car keeps overheating. The hot air from the A/C is now blowing cold and it just started today out of the blue.

Check for low coolant, check that the thermostat is opening. If coolant is low, get a cooling system pressure test done to find any external leaks and a head check done to test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system. This will indicate an internal leak, start here.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
