Hi,

If the engine is reving while in gear, then your transmission is slipping or has an internal failure.

When you stopped and put it in Park then back to drive, does it still just rev or does it move at this point? Meaning did this happen one time or do you not have any gears at all at this point?

If you don't have any gears then this is either due to a failed transmission pump and you are not getting sufficient pressure to engage the gears or as I said, there is an internal failure that will require a replacement or rebuild. If you have the ability to check for codes, let's start there. That will help us identify if this is just an electrical issue even though I doubt it.

Then we need to check pressure in the transmission to ensure that the pump is operating.

Let me know about this and we can go from there. Thanks

Thank you for your reply, it is with all gears I have had AA home start out and they have said clutch has gone.
I will check the transmission fist before I send it to the garage.

I am sorry. I just reread your first post and saw this was a manual transmission. I answered you as if it was an automatic.

Since is it a manual I would definitely look at the clutch first. My guess is the throw bearing or slave cylinder has failed.
