Start up is fine. Forward in first is good the first time. After stopping pull hard to get going engine revving to go but no noticeable slipping. Interstate driving for a few miles engine rpm's raise as if down shipping or over drive kicking out.

So is this a lack of power when it warms up? Because I seen plugged catalytic converters on these cars do that.

New two years ago. Transmission shop reader showed ECM. Changed with like service numbers (21024490). That did not work, would not shift into third until tachometer hit 5000. Changed another one, same thing. Got another one just yesterday, different problem, would not shift out of first. All the same service number. Also changed the middle solenoid (overdrive) on valve body first thinking overdrive was locking.

If you have a new problem with the pcm you just out in time to out the old one back in. Those pcm in those cars rarely fail. We're you getting any codes? The most common issue is the pressure regulator bore in the valve body wears and sticks or causes too low or two high of line pressure in the transmission. Also the input shaft nut loosens up and causes fluid pressure issues. Do you have a delay or delay bang into reverse?

Sometimes on the banging. Also between park & drive. Why would 4 different ECMs have 3 different issues? None had the same problem as the original one. Wouldn't they all have the same problem if good? Is there a way to get codes without a reader? A jumper wire was mentioned from another person that had a similar problem to get codes.

That's really weird that 3 different problems from three different pcms I don't go swaping pcms on those. Like I said I think changed one in all the years I worked for Saturn over 16yrs. If you have a delay bang into reverse you have a pressure issue a leaking piston or a loose input shaft. But if you have a pressure issues it usually effects the higher gears like 3rd and 4th. As far as flashing codes the 1991-1995 Saturn's you can flash the codes out 1996 and up is obd2 which you need a code reader. Code readers are pretty cheap these days.I have a little pocket reader that has some live engine data.I use that for quick code reads. It's like 50 or under its a good investment.
