Recently, I noticed no air (either hot or cold) is coming from the rear vents located on back of middle console. The dampers are both open all the way. I read a post about a 1998 Lincoln Navigator with the same problem. He was told to check the fuse for a rear auxiliary AC/heat module. I looked through my owner's manual for the fuses and maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything with that name. Perhaps my car doesn't have that module. Anyway, I would really appreciate any help I could get for this problem.

Hi,

Rear auxiliary heat isn't offered on this vehicle. That is when you have a separate blower motor, heater core, and so on specific for the rear of the vehicle. Usually, they are found in vans and SUV vehicles.

As far as your vehicle is concerned, heat to the rear is provided via a plastic duct that runs under the center console. When you select heat to be directed to the floor, do you get it in the front? If you do, start by checking the floor duct adapter is still attached. It is held on by two nuts.

Take a look at pic 1 below and let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
