Hi,

I have a 2008 Volvo S40 and is actually in great condition. However, when I have the air or AC turned on (doesn't matter) I know it is working because I have normal air or cold air coming only from the windshield vent but I have no normal or cold air coming from the dashboard and floor vents. When I place my hand in front of the dashboard and floor air vents I can feel some cold air coming but not 100%. Also, I know the switch is working because I can hear it doing something. Any idea what the problem could be? Any crack or leak in the hoses or so? If so, where should I check I have tried locating it but couldn't find it.

Any response is greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much.

If it continues to come through the defroster only, you must have a bad blend door actuator or one is broken or disconnected. If I recall, the Volvo actuates the vent doors by the HVAC. Check to make sure there are no broken wires. Here is the location

The defroster is just one item in the HVAC system. There is plastic duct work that takes the air to where it needs to go. The air flow direction is done by vent doors. By opening and closing, the air is diverted to different places.
