Exhaust clinging noise. Service Engine light.

Hello there.
I have a 2002 Sentra SE-R with around 55000 miles and just last nite I heard this clinging noise when I accelerate the engine. I went home and had the car accelerated while I was underneath, it seems to be within the exhaust. Right where the resonator is in the exhaust. It seems to be as if there is something loose in there. However just today, the car's Service engine light came on. I wonder if the O2 sensor just broke itself apart and that is why I am having this issue or maybe the catalytic is shot and given this is happening the O2 sensor is triggered lighting up the SES light. Any ideas?

You need to have a code scanner plugged into the car and see what code comes back. It may very well be the O2 senor, but why guess when you can have it checked. Some auto parts store will scan the code for free if you don't have one. EXAMPLE Autozone etc. Good luck Backyardmechanic :)
