Died on me a few months ago accelerating from a green light. The distributor was replaced. Ran great until this week when it first wouldnt start, but then did after sitting a few minutes. I replaced the battery. A day later after running errands, making several stops, it wouldnt start back up. Tow truck guy said loose battery connection so I tightened up the battery connections and it started up fine.
Ran around town on errands again, making several stops. Then it wouldnt start again. Lights come on, radio, all electrical looks good, but no start, or turnover. I did notice during the errands that after the first stop it started fine, second stop rrr-then start, third stop rrr-rrr-then start, fourth stop rrr-rrr-rrr then start, then it died after the fifth stop and no rrr at all.

Maybe a good idea to change the battery clamps and battery wires, also check for loose connections on the starter relay and starter.

When you say it goes rrrr that is the sound of low voltage going to the starter, try jumping the vehicle also your alternator may be bad causing the battery to go dead so often.
