Hi two possible causes. The cam seal and the crankshaft seal. Good luck billymac

It seems to be comming from higher up, is there any way to confirm this before tearing it down. This is a car that is for sale and I am trying to figure the risk. The cam seal I can handle, it's the crank seal that is more than I want to handle

Yes if it is above the cam then a valve cover gasket. Crank seal is pretty simple as well about the same as the cam seal. Billymac
