Hi. Thinking about buying this car. In good shape except on left and right turns, makes a creaky noise. Seller says it needs new CV joints. Is that true or is it something else?

Hello,
Yes, a clicking sound when when turning or even driving straight depending on how bad they are, is a good sign of CV Axles being bad.

Thanks for the answer! Do you have a general idea of what it would cost to replace them and how long I can drive on them before replacing them?

The CV Axles will run around $150 or so each at a garage and the labor will depend on the rate in your area. I would guess between $500 and $600 maybe a little more like I said it will depend on labor rate in your area. Call around to some of the local garages a get a few estimates.
